The newest addition to our fleet is a former Navy-type landing craft (LCM-8) that is a highly capable work platform available for hire. The 74-foot, aluminum-hulled Pelican offers unique capabilities for marine construction, coastal research operations, beach deliveries, materials transport and work in the film industry.

The Pelican can act as a base with man-lift for bridge inspections, a mothership for your dive project, a platform for CPT/vibrocoring, drilling, working on fendering systems, it can handle many tasks.

For research projects the Pelican is ideally configured to serve as a coring platform in any body of water from the surf zone to deep water with its 4 point anchoring system. She has also been used to deploy and recover buoys, and to pursue other activities. The vessel's layout and capabilities inspire creativity in planning fieldwork.


Special features include a 29’ x 17’ (7.3m x 5.2m) working deck, a crane with a 9-ton lifting capacity, a hydraulic bow ramp that can be lowered to water level for ease of deploying and retrieving scientific gear/divers/equipment, 4 hydraulic anchor winches, enabling pinpoint vessel positioning, a full working galley, 2 restrooms and a large lab like area.
